About Kerstin

Hi, I am Kerstin, I am a qualified kids & teens yoga teacher and a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Australia. I have been training with YogaED, YOGAZEIT and the Wisdom Yoga Institute in Perth WA. The trainings have included trauma informed practices, teaching kids, teens & adults, making yoga accessible for all abilities, ages and bodies, and an intensive mindfulness program (MBSR). I am also trained in restorative and restful yoga practice as well mindful meditation and have a special interest in the power of movement, mindfulness and rest for children as well as for their parents, carers and teachers.

I am a mother of two amazing children who are now in their tween and teen years and have also worked with children in early learning center’s (ELC) as a qualified Early Childhood Educator for over a decade.

In the role of a parent and working with children, I have experienced that children from the youngest ages are faced with stressful and high-pressure situations as the demands on kids in primary schools, high schools and ELC’s are increasing, as well as in extracurricular activities and socially.

I have found myself overwhelmed and stressed, juggling parenting, work and family commitments. Yoga, mindfulness meditation and breathing helped me immensely with my own struggles and immediately made a difference in my own family and with my children. Since then, I knew I wanted to teach yoga to families, children & teens and anyone caring for children. I am passionate about sharing the mental, physical and emotional health benefits of yoga and mindfulness.

I have since taught mindfulness & movement in my own kid’s school classes as well as an afterschool program, and I am committed to making the physical, mental and emotional benefits of mindfulness and movement available to families and school communities.

“My hope is for every school to offer mindfulness and movement to their students, so that they, from an early age, learn the tools with which to navigate through the ups and downs of life.”
